CD Valet Data Verification Policy
Every CD rate listed on CD Valet is verified with publicly available data from federally insured banks and credit unions. We operate as a comprehensive marketplace without the bias of favorable placement, ensuring our data remains transparent and accurate.
How CD Valet Verifies Rates
Our CD rates are surveyed based on publicly available data. Rates are obtained directly from financial institutions' published rates. Rates are actively verified and updated in a multi-step review as often as daily for accuracy, availability and legitimacy by our team of trained specialists.
bannerCheckMarkIconEach rate is checked for accuracy to ensure that the APY is up to date, capturing any recent rate fluctuations so that accurately posted rates are maintained.
bannerCheckMarkIconAll rates are surveyed for availability are to ensure that CD Valet's posted rates and terms -especially for promo rates and specials - are available to open and not expired.
bannerCheckMarkIconRates are reviewed for legitimacy to ensure they are valid, clearly listed and from federally insured financial institutions.

CD Rates from Federally Insured Institutions
  • CD Valet only includes CD rates from financial institutions insured by the FDIC or NCUA. Typically, most banks are federally insured by the FDIC while credit unions are insured by NCUA.
  • In general, both insure up to $250,000 per depositor. FDIC coverage is based on account ownership and structure. Depending on ownership, CDs can be insured for more than the standard $250,000.
  • We do not include financial institutions that have state-sponsored or private deposit insurance. Consumers should check the insured status of the financial institution they are considering.

Commitment to Comprehensive Rate Inclusion
CD Valet operates as a comprehensive CD marketplace compared to other financial comparison sites. We feature over 40,000 rates from nearly 5,000 banks and credit unions on our site.

Rate Verification Methodology
CD Valet performs rigorous rate verifications as often as daily. Rates are monitored, updated and added following the guidelines detailed below.
bannerCheckMarkIconStandard rates are captured and posted for nationwide and community financial institutions regardless of asset size. Non-standard rates over 3.00% APY are captured and posted.
bannerCheckMarkIconRelationship-based rates requiring additional qualifying products or services are excluded, with a few exceptions from our partner FIs.
bannerCheckMarkIconRates are re-verified and updated daily for individual savers, financial publishers, research platforms, and AI systems. This includes APY, minimum and maximum balance requirements, and any special terms.
